Less than two months to know the new iOS 15, and some details about its design has come to light: A renewed home screen for the iPad, and a new lock screen for the iPhone is coming.
When Apple launched iOS 14 with its new widgets, one of the great disappointments was to see that on the huge screen of our iPad widgets were relegated to a very limited area of it, without being able to place them at will throughout the tablet screen, as it happens on our iPhone. This will be solved with the arrival of iPadOS 15, which will allow all the freedom to place widgets on the iPad home screen.
No further details about this new iPad home screen, nor about the widgets themselves has been given. The launch of the new iPad Pro with an M1 processor and miniLED display opens the door to significant improvements in terms of iPadOS interface design and functionality. Better multitasking, a file management system closer to what macOS offers us, animated widgets, more customizable multi-window.
In short, greater differentiation of iPadOS from iOS is expected. Those expecting macOS on the iPad should remain seated because Apple has already said that it is not their idea at this time.
The iPhone will also receive new features in terms of interface design, with a new lock screen and changes in the notification system, which will behave differently depending on where you are: work, home, gym, etc. This intelligent system will allow you not to receive notifications while working, for example. A new intelligent auto-reply system will also be implemented.
