Sometime this year, the launch of the redesigned iMac 2021 is expected to come and the latest leaks indicate that it will feature a really big display. The credible leaker l0vetodream claims that we will see an iMac with a very large display. Larger even than the current 27-inch model.
In a tweet written in Chinese, l0vetodream spreads a message for the upcoming computer of Apple. According to Google Translate, the leaker claims that “the iMac’s screen is really big, bigger than the biggest one”. In other words, the new iMac 2021 is going to have a larger display than the current 27-inch model.
Apple currently markets the iMac in two sizes: 21.5-inch and 27-inch. The larger model is also the one that contains more powerful components inside, as well as a 5K display instead of the 4K of the lower model. We should remember that this is not the largest display Apple currently sells.
It is the XDR Pro Display, the monitor presented alongside the 2019 Mac Pro. This display has a 32-inch diagonal and a 6,016 by 3,384 pixels resolution. It is believed that the next model could have a size similar to the XDR Pro Display with a 6K resolution support. Apple stopped selling the LG UltraFine 5K display a few months ago, so a monitor similar to the XDR Pro Display is also expected.
In addition to the new size and design, this model will have an Apple Silicon processor inside. It is unknown if it will have a new generation M2 processor, a modified M1 with more cores, or a combination of both.
