Apex Legends is set in the Titanfall universe, but Respawn Entertainment will take the connection between the two intellectual properties further by bringing some new content in the Season 9 of the battle royale. The information comes from Chad Grenier himself, game director at Respawn, who in a stream has promised: “a ton” of Titanfall-based content.

In a Twitch broadcast with several members of Respawn, Grenier assures, “Next season, Season 9, you’re actually going to see a ton of Titanfall coming back into the game in one way or another. So, I’ve told some people before, if you’re a Titanfall fan hang on for Season 9.”

However, Grenier does not go into details about Season 9, which is expected to kick off in May. Season 8’s battle pass ends on the third day of that month, which serves as an indication of the next season’s premiere unless they extend the pass. Recently a new character, Blisk, was leaked, whose ultimate ability is to summon a Titan that will move automatically.

In the same stream mentioned above, Ashley Reed, senior scriptwriter on Apex, talks about the plot justification for mixing the two games: “What’s going on in Titanfall is a war, Apex is what happens after the war, like what is life like in this place? So we’re trying to integrate Titanfall into that, because Titanfall’s very much a part of the universe.”

Apex Legends is available for free on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The latter version was released in early March. Make sure to check this amazing game if you are a battle royale fan.
