Today we are going to make a comparison between Realme 8 Pro and Realme 7 Pro. Realme is releasing a new smartphone every 6 months. A year ago the company presented the Realme 6 Pro, 6 months ago it presented the Realme 7 Pro and now it has just unveiled the Realme 8 Pro.
Considering the number of people opting for a mid-range smartphone, we’ve decided to make a comparison between those models. This way you’ll be able to decide which one to buy.

A renewed design
The first major change that we appreciate in the Realme 8 Pro compared to its predecessor focuses on the dimensions because we find a lighter and thinner device than the Realme 7 Pro, which makes it much more comfortable to handle with one hand. In that sense, the Realme 8 Pro uses a new material on its back, this gives the device a much more premium look and a better grip feeling.
Another major difference compared to the previous model is the design of the back, with a much more aesthetic camera module that protrudes from the chassis and the manufacturer’s slogan printed on the right side that creates a really nice mirror effect.
A much sharper and brighter display
The display of the Realme 8 Pro uses the same type of panel, the same size, the same resolution as its predecessor: 6.4-inch Super AMOLED with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution. However, it adds a much higher level of brightness, reaching 1000 nits of maximum brightness compared to the 600 nits of the Realme 7 Pro.
This improvement in brightness means that the screen is much sharper than the previous model, which is a welcome feature.
Cameras that take a leap in quality
Undoubtedly, the great new aspect of the Realme 8 Pro is the cameras. There’s a leap from a 64MP Sony IMX682 main camera to a 108MP Samsung S5KHM2 main camera, which is the same one that Redmi Note 10 Pro equips.
The other three secondary sensors are very similar in both smartphones, but the software support in the Realme 8 Pro makes the photographic experience much better in the device.
For its part, the front camera loses resolution compared to the Realme 7 Pro, 16MP vs 32MP, but Realme 8 Pro promises a better quality thanks to its bigger sensor.
In addition to the differences between the two smartphones, there are also some features that have not changed. Both smartphones have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G.
Realme’s new mid-range smartphone still has the same memory configuration as its predecessor, 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. But there’s also a cheaper version with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Both of them are expandable via micro SD cards.
Realme 8 Pro still has a 4,500mAh battery with fast charging, although the Realme 7 Pro fast charges at 65W compared to the 50W of the current model. This decrease does not affect, practically, the duration of the charge because we are talking about a difference of only 10 minutes more compared to the previous model.
Is it worth buying the Realme 7 Pro when the Realme 8 Pro has just been released? If we focus on the specs of both phones, the Realme 8 Pro is a better buy because it has a sharper screen and cameras with better resolution, accompanied by a much more professional image processing.
