The Realme GT is the new high-end device of the brand. It is the most powerful smartphone of the manufacturer so far, but there are some controversies.
According to AnTuTu the Realme GT cheated in benchmarks
In a post on the social network Weibo, AnTuTu has openly criticized the Realme GT. Apparently, the device cheated in its benchmarks, which is why the well-known website has removed the benchmark from its website. They consider that the phone did not achieve its score in an honest way.
AnTuTu claims that the phone did not achieve 750,000 points in an honest way. The company has cited Realme GT‘s performance in multi-threaded workload and JPG decoding as its benchmarks for making these accusations. The phone might have manipulated its results to get a higher score than it could actually get.
According to reports, the phone used thread-delay tactics to run the multi-threaded test on its CPU cores as fast as possible, which resulted in a higher score. In addition, the phone has modified the benchmark JPG image that AnTuTu used. Instead of literally processing the image, mosaic color blocks were used with which to reduce the image quality which requires lower processing times.
The firm has therefore removed the phone from its tests, something that will be extended for three months. In addition, they have given an ultimatum to the brand, saying that if they do not change the way the phone completes the benchmark, they will remove it completely from their website.
Realme does not become the first firm to be accused of falsifying its benchmarks, although AnTuTu‘s warning is very serious in this case. Moreover, this model is the manufacturer’s flagship for this year, so these accusations could have a negative impact on its image. The brand has not responded so far.
