At the end of February, the ‘OK Google’ command was broken on Wear OS devices for some reason, and now it has been fixed with an update. Users of popular smartwatches using this operating system weren’t able to use the voice command, even Google admitted that there were problems related to this feature.
Google has released new updates for Wear OS to fix this issue, with users on Reddit reporting that it has finally been fixed and providing evidence of it on different models with Wear OS.
The “OK Google” command works again on Wear OS
The problem with voice recognition was spotted on the Google Issue Tracker, with Google stating that it was already working on the issue. It is not known when exactly the issue has occurred, although everything points to the fact that one of the small Wear OS updates caused the problem.
This bug affected devices from OPPO, TicWatch, Sunto, Fossil and Motorola, among others, Google has not made any official statement (it does not usually do so with this type of minor updates), but users are already reporting that the bug has been fixed. If you are having this kind of a problem, we recommend you to check the updates.
