Apple releases the third beta of iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 to developers. These versions arrive several weeks after the previous version that brought us the most interesting news. In this update, given the avalanche of changes in the first version and the interesting new features of the second, we expect rather few changes and focused on improving performance and polishing the occasional bug.
Apple releases the third beta of iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 to developers
Recall that in beta 1 of iOS and iPadOS 14.5 we saw several interesting new features. The most important is the arrival of the App Tracking Transparency, the unlocking of the iPhone with our Apple Watch, and compatibility with third-party remotes, not to mention design changes in the Podcasts or Music app, for example. Then in beta 3 also appeared new features such as new emoji, more security on the iPad, shortcuts, and more.
In this version, therefore, we do not expect major changes. We expect that this version will bring the correction of some small bugs and improve the overall performance of the devices. As for the date of availability of the public version, according to what Apple has commented on this privacy system, we can expect its arrival during the spring of 2021.
If we want to enter the beta cycle we can do it by following these steps, but it is necessary to keep in mind that we are talking about versions under development that contain bugs.
Already in the beta cycle, you will find the update in the Settings app as an OTA update. During the first hours, Apple servers may receive more demand than usual, so the waiting time may be longer.
