Worldwide during the last few months, we have experienced a boom in video calls and live video on platforms such as Instagram. The social network has decided to implement a new feature called Live Rooms that will allow you to take live video calls one step further.
Instagram now allows you to make live broadcasts with 3 other people
Live broadcasts are becoming more and more frequent in our day-to-day lives, and it is becoming easier and easier to take a cell phone and start broadcasting live for everyone.
Although normally live broadcasts are an activity that we perform individually, it is a content format in which there is room for several people to get together on a call and broadcast live, such as a chat or whatever comes to mind.
To this end, Instagram has introduced Live Rooms, a feature that allows us to broadcast live with 3 other people, making a total of 4.
The process is simple, and it is enough to go to the section to broadcast live. In the broadcast, we will have a camera icon and the add symbol. We select from there and we will be able to invite up to 3 more people. The possibility of adding allows us total flexibility, being able to invite 2 people, invite a third one later and when someone leaves invite a different person.
To give a practical example of what kind of uses it will have, Instagram has confirmed that the new Live Rooms feature will be used by RTVE as part of the coverage of the Goya Awards 2021, with live connections with the protagonists of the gala.
The new feature starts rolling out from today, so it is recommended that you have fully updated the app before proceeding. Still, these types of rollouts are usually done progressively, so you may have to wait a while until you get this feature.
