Spotify has a new dynamic that will help users find specific content among their favorite songs. A new filter system that will come in handy for those who have thousands of songs bookmarked with “likes” on the platform.
New filters for your favorite songs on Spotify
In addition to creating playlists, saving playlists or entire albums, Spotify also gives us a space for all the songs we mark with “I like”. And while this is a handy dynamic to keep track of songs we find interesting, this collection of favorite songs can grow enormously with a combination of different genres and artists.
So if we want to listen to a certain genre or type of music we will find it difficult to filter through the thousands of favorite songs. Spotify wants to solve this situation with a new dynamic: Genre and mood filters.
Yes, you will be able to filter among your favorite songs those that identify with a certain mood or style of music, without having to make the selection manually. And following this dynamic, you can use up to 15 filters and categories to find the type of music you are interested in listening to at a certain time of the day, as you can see in the image above.
A dynamic that will be updated as you add more favorite songs, as it will adapt to the content that you add to this collection. The only requirement to use this new Spotify filter system is to have at least 30 tracks in “Songs I like”.
And yes, you will be able to use these filters regardless of whether you have a free account or some of the premium subscriptions. At the moment, this feature is not available internationally, as Spotify is focusing on certain English-speaking markets at this early stage. But hopefully, it will be rolled out to everyone soon.
