AMD is preparing the launch of the Radeon RX 6700 XT, a mid-high-end graphics card that will compete directly with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, and according to recent information, it could be more powerful than we thought.
First of all, we want to remind you that the Radeon RX 6700 XT will occupy a different range than the Radeon RX 6700 and that we should not confuse them, since the former will be more powerful, and also more expensive. The second will compete with the RTX 3060, and will fit directly into what we can consider as mid-range.
The always reliable VideoCardz has shared new information in which we can see that there will be two versions of the Radeon RX 6700 XT, one with a high overclock and another at lower frequencies that will be equivalent to the reference design. The first one will have a TGP of 230W, and the second one will stay at 189W. For your reference, the RTX 3060 Ti has a TGP of 200W.
The model with the higher TGP could reach 2,600 MHz on the GPU, and its performance will be 20% to 25% higher than that of a Radeon RX 5700 XT. Personally, and considering that the RX 6800 is, on average, 32% more powerful than the RX 5700 XT, we think it is most likely that the Radeon RX 6700 XT will end up being 15% to 20% more powerful, on average, than the RX 5700 XT.
The Radeon RX 6700 XT is expected to launch on March 18, while the Radeon RX 6700 will go in April. We don’t have a specific date, but in principle, it will most likely land during the first half of that month.

Radeon RX 6700 XT expected price
The retail price has not yet been disclosed, but considering the range at which the Radeon RX 6700 XT is aimed, it should be around $350 to $400, approximately. For its part, the Radeon RX 6700 will almost certainly be in the $300 range.
We remind you that, in terms of raw specifications, the Radeon RX 6700 will be the most similar general-purpose graphics card to the GPU used by PS5, something we have already mentioned in previous articles. In the chart below you can see a comparative breakdown of the specifications of the new generation of AMD graphics cards.
