The first Android 12 developer preview has been with us for a few days now and it has a hidden gaming toolbar.
It has been revealed that Google has a hidden gaming toolbar in Android 12, so we have an idea about what this possible gaming mode that could arrive with the final version of the operating system will look like.
There’s a hidden gaming toolbar in Android 12
We learned that one of the new features of Android 12 could be a gaming mode a week ago. Because in the Android code, we were able to see this line: “service to manage gaming features.”
One of the buttons in this toolbar starts the screen recording, just like the one available on Android, but with the advantage of not having to open the quick settings panel to start it. The second button at the moment does nothing, and the code doesn’t give many clues on what it might do.
Google hasn’t officially released this feature for now
The idea of the gaming toolbar is not too different from the examples like MIUI have. For now, Android 12 has very few options. Hopefully, Google will add more features to the toolbar before it is officially released. After all, it is still not even officially accessible in the first developer preview.
