As the months go by, more and more rumors and leaks about Apple’s next phone are slowly emerging. The iPhone 13 is taking shape and with it, we know some of its alleged specifications. A new leak reveals the arrival of always-on mode, aesthetic changes, or 120 Hz display among other things.

iPhone 13 might come with an always-on display, Touch ID under the screen, and camera upgrades

In a new video from EverythingApplePro, the YouTuber compiles a series of rumors of what will allegedly bring this year’s iPhone. iPhone 12s or iPhone 13 may be the name, although the final decision is always Apple’s and does not have to follow any standard rules for it. Be that as it may, even more, interesting are the functionalities and features it will possibly have in its different variants (Mini, Pro, Max…).

The video, in collaboration with leaker Max Weinbach, refers to the screen that will bring the new Apple iPhone 13. Although it keeps the same size, it seems that the technology used will be different. First of all, the mention of 120 Hz stands out. We have already seen this screen refresh rate in other cell phones, although not in Apple. At least not on the iPhone, as it has been available on the iPad Pro for some time.

Another feature that looks like it will import from its other devices is the always-on display. A feature that first debuted on the Apple Watch, where the screen dims to indicate only some minimal details without consuming as much battery. Something similar is expected to be used on the iPhone 13, where some icons, time, and notifications will be displayed temporarily. All this in an interface with almost no lighting and minimal elements.

Leaving the display to one side for a bit, there are reports of the possible arrival of improvements to the iPhone camera. Apple is looking to mount an improved ultra-wide lens. But the camera changes points to be more software. There is speculation of the arrival of Portrait Mode to videos to record a video and subsequently change the depth of field in video editing. Also the inclusion of an astronomy mode in which the camera changes the settings when pointing at the night sky to take better pictures (higher exposure, noise reduction…).

Another detail to consider is a possible smaller notch. The notch will be accompanied by another authentication method well known by Apple, the fingerprint reader. That yes, it would be a fingerprint reader included under the screen. With the popularization of the masks this past year, the fingerprint reader has again gained points of inconvenience.

Apple never reports new features of their phones until they are officially presented. This is usually in September or October each year, so we will have to wait a few more months to see if these rumors (and those already known) of the iPhone 13 are real. All this always taking into account also the rumors of iOS 15, the version of the operating system that will accompany the next iPhone.
