With a brief image, Huawei has announced on Weibo the date on which we will know its first folding mobile of the year: The Huawei Mate X2. This terminal will be the third foldable Huawei, after the original Huawei Mate X and the improved sequel, the Huawei Mate XS.
Huawei Mate X2 already has a launch date: The first foldable of 2021 arrives on February 22nd
Huawei for the moment has not yet revealed any confirmed configuration of the Huawei Mate X2, although luckily it won’t be long before we get out of doubt: The presentation will take place next February 22nd.
So if anything indicates to us the image accompanying the invitation, is that the Huawei Mate X2 will possibly fold inward. It’s the same path Samsung has followed in its Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Flip series, but Huawei opted for a different path in its Huawei Mate Xs: A single screen that folds outward.
This was, in fact, one of the few rumors that have sounded these days about the Huawei Mate X2, which is somewhat confirmed by the image that, we speculate, represents the device half-open, with one of its hinges insight. When folded in this way, it should include a second screen so that it can be used folded.
According to leaks, the Huawei Mate X2 could have a main, foldable, 8.01-inch, 2480 x 2220 resolution display and a secondary 6.45-inch display with 2270 x 1160 resolution. Inside it would be expected to feature the Kirin 9000 5G.
Of its cameras, a 16-megapixel front camera and a rear quad camera are expected: 50 MP + 16 MP + 12 MP + 8 MP, with a possible 10X hybrid zoom. Its possible passage through the TENAA certifier leaves us even its measurements: 161.8 x 145.8 x 8.2 mm and a weight of 295 grams.
At the moment there is nothing confirmed, but we will not have to wait too long to find out. The date is February 22nd at an unspecified time. There are 19 days left for the first foldable of 2021.
