Apple TV 6 is going to arrive this fall with a completely redesigned tvOS 15 according to a rumor.
The Verifier claims to know details of Apple’s plans with its streaming box, which include a new sixth-generation model that would be released later this year.
This new sixth-generation Apple TV would include a new chip more powerful than the A12, 64GB and 128GB storage models with larger capacities in the future and more than 3GB RAM. It would also include a new Siri Remote controller and as an option a special gaming controller would be offered.
New tvOS 15 interface in Apple TV 6 will compete with PS4 and Xbox Series X
The new Apple TV would be accompanied by a new tvOS 15 with a completely redesigned interface, a new mode for children, the integrated Time of Use function and improved subscription management. But perhaps one of the most interesting points is that all this would lead to a new video game service, for which Apple is already planning to include major industry titles.
Apparently Apple is already in talks with major video game studios, negotiating a way to bring triple A games (the most famous and complex) to Apple TV. This might be in the already in-use Apple Arcade+, but we are not sure yet.
Names aside, it makes sense that Apple is preparing to jump headfirst into the gaming market by launching an Apple TV that takes the first steps to compete with Sony and Microsoft’s living room consoles. Time will tell but also remember that The Verifier doesn’t exactly have a great track record of getting its rumors right. Nearly half of its predictions have failed, according to AppleTrack.
