Skype is also targeting the chat bubbles that premiere with Android 11 in the last update.

It came to our lives with Google Messenger and what it does is that when a new message is received, a bubble appears on the screen that allows us to chat from any application. This new feature is now can be used with Skype as well.

With bubbles, you can chat from any app

With Android 11, Google added support for the bubble notification API, and it was up to each developer to implement it in every application that was launched. Until now, it was an option only enjoyed by Google Messages and Facebook Messenger, while Telegram is already working to make it possible. And along the way, it is Skype that has implemented such a function.

  • Skype Meet Now: Video chat with no downloads or registration

This feature comes with the latest version (v8.67.0.95) of Skype and it was discovered for the first time by the Twitter user @tonypalus

However, Skype does not activate the bubbles by default. To activate them, you must access the app options, and within the “Notifications” section, you should enable them.

Microsoft’s Skype is one of the applications that will benefit from bubble support along the way, but it’s not the only one, since it seems that Slack is also testing the bubble notification feature in Android 11.
