The new Apple Watch might have a camera and a flash
According to a patent registered by Apple at the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office), the company is considering the possibility of adding a hidden camera and a flash in a future version of its smartwatch.
The proposal is really striking. The name of the patent is “Electronic devices with two-stage screens.” One of these layers could be in charge of hiding both the camera and the flash.
In order for the camera to remain hidden, the patent describes a matrix of pixels that can change between being transparent and opaque at will. Based on the registered design, the area of the screen underneath the camera is able to remain hidden, but it can become transparent when the Apple Watch user opens the app.
