Xiaomi Mi Band 5 receives sleep monitoring throughout the day.
Xiaomi Mi Band 5 is the latest wearable physical activity tracker from the Chinese giant. It came on the market after last year’s popular Xiaomi Mi Band 4. The new model is similar to the previous generation device, with a slightly larger screen and a more convenient magnetic charging system.
Currently, the Mi Band 5 is receiving a new worldwide firmware update with some new features.
- Xiaomi roll-up smartphone could be the best design of the brand
- The new intelligent lock from Xiaomi is more secure than ever
The Mi Band series of cables has been one of the best selling and most popular worldwide since its inception and is also one of Xiaomi’s top-selling products. The company also often provides firmware updates to these devices to extend their life or add new features.
The company has released a new firmware update for its Mi Band 5 under the build number v1.0.2.46. Unfortunately, there is no official changelog at this time for the global versions. On the other hand, China changelog mentions that the new update has three main features.
Xiaomi Mi Band 5 has a new update and what’s new in this update
First, the new firmware adds support for 24-hour sleep monitoring. Secondly, the new update provides support for four new languages: Indonesian, Greek, Vietnamese, and Hebrew. It is quite likely that these two functions will also be available in the global editions. The third important function added by this new update seems to be one aimed at its customers in the Chinese market.
That said, to upgrade the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 to the latest firmware (v1.0.2.46), users will need to upgrade the Mi Fit application to version v4.8.0. Then, simply open the application to begin the upgrade installation process. If that does not happen, go to the “My Band 5” or “My Smart Band 5” section in the “My Devices” section and tap on “Check for Updates”.
