The price of DRAMs will start to rise in the first quarter of 2021. The dedicated market analysis site, TrendForce, revealed that the DRAM market is balancing out, meaning that the stock level was adjusted after stores sold for several months at low prices to free up their inventories.
Basically, this means that prices will start to stabilize and even rise slightly in the first quarter of 2021. Currently, the memory market is divided into 40% for mobile devices, 34% for servers, 13% for consumer PCs, 8% for DRAM consumers, and the remaining 5% for graphics.
Among the main players is GDDR6 memory, used in all modern graphics cards, which will increase its price by 5-10%. Also, the price of DDR4 DRAM for consumer PCs will remain “constant”, which will mean an increase from 0 to 5%.
