LinkedIn has added a new Products tab for Company Pages, which aims to enable businesses to showcase their product offerings through their LinkedIn presence while highlighting key features.
The new Products tab will appear on LinkedIn Company Pages and will contain a list of products offered by relevant organization. The tab will show an alphabetical list of the products or a single, main product page.
New additions to the LinkedIn platform
LinkedIn aims to create a reliable overview of product offerings that links all reviews and approvals distinct from services or business segments. However, to do this, platorm also plays a role in determining which products a business can actually list on the products tab.
According to the LinkedIn overview, when you go to set up your Products tab for the first time, you ‘ll see a custom list of products LinkedIn has created. Therefore, don’t upload your product catalog yourself or add listings, since you can let LinkedIn do this for you. Product names and categories are all displayed and automatically listed based on the information LinkedIn has collected.
Which products can be added to the list?
Product Pages are reserved for concrete product offerings. Products that can be listed must have a trademarked brand name. They should also have a name that is used consistently in relation to the current product on the web pages, as well as other features such as a description and logo are needed.
LinkedIn also states that it plans to launch a service marketplace in the near future and will offer options to list all your other business elements. Once you’ve got your product tab and a list of your current products, you can add product logos, descriptions, visual assets, and an image of existing customers for each.
Not only that, but you can also add a target audience for your product. To do this, you should add up to 10 business functions and state that your product is designed for everyone. It’s good to be comprehensive when adding your target users, as it will affect how your product appears in search results on the platform.
