Samsung announces a new Smart TV, it’s giant and brings amazing microLED technology.
In the last two years, Samsung brought its futuristic and modular televisions called “The Wall” to the market that use a new technology called MicroLED. This shares many features of the Smart TV with OLED system, but without most of its drawbacks. It is the future, the next big leap in quality on the screens to come in the next few years.
Now, Samsung is taking advantage of the growing relevance of MicroLED technology and decided to launch a model. Today the company announced its new 110-inch MicroLED television, which will be launched first in Korea and then launched globally in the first quarter of 2021.
Samsung MicroLED Smart TV price
We wonder the price of this impressive new Samsung TV, but the brand did not reveal its cost yet. It is expected to cost much more than any of the company’s other 4K (or even 8K) models due to its new MicroLED technology.
Samsung MicroLED Smart TV features
This television has a screen-to-body ratio of 99.99 percent, but Samsung still managed to build into it “an integrated Majestic sound system” that claims to be able to “deliver impressive 5.1 channel sound without an external speaker.
This is what Samsung says about image quality:
“The 110-inch MicroLED uses micrometer-sized LED lights to eliminate the backlighting and color filters used in conventional displays. Instead, it is self-illuminating, producing light and color from its own pixel structures. It expresses 100 percent of the DCI and Adobe RGB color gamut and accurately delivers wide-range color images taken with high-end DSLR cameras. This results in stunning, lifelike colors and precise brightness of the 4K screen resolution and 8 million pixels.

Because all of these LEDs are self-illuminating, you get perfect blacks and fantastic contrast that has come to define OLED technology. But above all, MicroLED technology is totally inorganic and therefore should have better long-term durability.
In the case of “The Wall” series TVs, MicroLEDs are placed in modular panels that can be combined to create a TV set of virtually any size.
As for this 110-inch MicroLED TV, it includes HDMI 2.1 and is compatible with everything you can imagine (120Hz and 4K). Its software has the ability to simultaneously broadcast up to four sources of content (even from different HDMI inputs) with the TV’s MultiView feature.
Samsung says MicroLED TVs will be democratized
Samsung says that the manufacturing of this 110-inch MicroLED television was not possible until very recently. And the company attributes this as a great achievement for the televisions of the future.
Smaller, more affordable MicroLED TVs are already on the brand’s roadmap, so while this new TV is priced out of many people’s reach, we can hope that someday there will be models that are more affordable.
Samsung is expected to have a new line of more conventional 4K and 8K QLED televisions next month during CES 2021 that will be entirely virtual due to the pandemic.
