Google Maps is updated with new features including business messaging.
Google Maps has become an almost indispensable tool for many users since, not only does it give us indications of where to go and how, but it also stores millions and millions of data to contact companies, businesses, etc. And apart from the many ways, it offers us to interact, in the end, there is nothing like a good chat to talk to a store when looking for more information.
That’s the last change that Google has added and it will start to reach all users in the next few days. We will have a tab that will be able to activate businesses on demand and that will serve to remove doubts or explain specific promotions on any of their products, or in other terms, a direct line that many customers will be happy to have at hand to manage their relationship with the entrepreneurs.
With updated Google Maps, business messaging features are coming
This update will appear with every news item that companies upload to Google Maps. As you can see in the image, if a coffee shop launches a new product or a special promotion, we can click on the “Message” button to start that chat with the business.
This will make it possible to ask for the details, which in the coronavirus times, makes knowing some things easier. Obviously, this service is perfect for customers, but it requires the store, or the company, to have a person dedicated to the control of these messages because it could be so negative for their image not to have a service like this, such as activating it and then no one will attend to it.
Google Maps is not the only platform that is striving in recent times to facilitate customer-company communication. WhatsApp, in the last weeks, has transformed its Business version so that any user of the messaging app can add businesses and stores in their chat timeline to ask questions and even buy directly from the screen of their smartphone. These improvements will come progressively because, as you know from other Google applications, it might take up to 15 days for updated Google Maps to reach all the Google accounts and business messsaging becomes available in almost all markets.
