The future foldable phones from Samsung will have a very peculiar format rr at least that’s what this image shared by the company indicates.
First came the Galaxy Fold, with its book-like format. Later, the Galaxy Z Flip came, introducing a shell format. Now everything points for the next phone to be in an accordion type body.
A render based on some patents has already shown us what could be the new format chosen by Samsung to develop their foldable phones. But it was not until now that, the company confirmed that it was experimenting with mobiles whose screens have multiple folds.
A Galaxy Z Fold 3 with a double fold?
The information comes from the official website of Samsung Display, where the company has shared an illustration showing this new variant of flexible screen with double fold. This variant gives the device an accordion-type format very similar to what TCL has shown us some time ago.
In the note accompanying the illustration, Samsung refers to this format as “multi-fold screen”, and defines it as “a foldable phone that is used like a smartphone”, amd its “screen unfolds in the same way that you open a paper map”.

It is not clear whether Samsung is already working on new devices based on this format -although there are already several clues to this-, or if it is simply one of the many experiments the company is conducting that never see the light of day. In any case, it cannot be ruled out that the Korean company is evaluating this and other variants when it comes to bringing its future folding phones to life.
