Bad news for many users who are used to never closing the browser, Google Chrome is going to limit the number of open tabs.
In recent weeks we have seen that Google Chrome has faced a series of problems due to vulnerabilities that have been found that allow it to hijack computers. But beyond these bumps, the truth is that it continues to implement new features to improve its use, and we’re going to comment on some of the updates it is making.
The reality is that with the advance of Microsoft Edge, it is finding even more competition than usual and has to make every effort to satisfy users. One of the latest developments he has launched concerns the number of open tabs, where he works on two fronts.
On the one hand, it doesn’t want these to slow down the computer with its continuous reloading and consumption of videos or advertising that can be kept active in the background.
“From this version on, Google Chrome actively manages the resources of your computer to speed up the tabs that interest you, while allowing you to keep hundreds of tabs open, so you can pick up where you left off”, they announce in Google regarding the latest version of Chrome. According to their analysis, JavaScript functions occupy up to 40% of the browser resources in open tabs but with which the user is not interacting.
To solve the problem, they have started using the Windows Occlusion Tracking function that gives the user the permissions to know which tabs and programs are being viewed by the user in order to manage the resources in them.
