Microsoft Surface Pro 8 prototype reappears with new images. Microsoft’s 2-in-1 PC is among the best-selling models in their segment and everything points to that it is going to receive an upgrade.
This is where Microsoft Surface Pro 8 comes in, a new version that was put on sale on eBay as an engineering sample. Now we are receiving more images that in the absence of official information confirm what we already knew, the presence of the eleventh generation Intel Core processors, and the new Xe graphics as great news.
- Microsoft Surface Pro X (2020) is out: specs, price, release date
- Microsoft Surface Laptop Go: specs, price and release date
- Microsoft Surface Duo is coming on September for $1,399
The images show the same design as the current model, Surface Pro 7, although being a prototype it may change in the final version. And it certainly will. Microsoft has reduced the thickness and weight of the latest models on the market, Surface Laptop Go and Surface Pro X, and its new 2-in-1 needs to go on a diet, as well as reducing the screen bezels, which are too wide for current tablet designs. We don’t believe Microsoft will change the magnesium compound for the chassis and excellent finish of the Surface.
In terms of hardware, the advantages will surely be there with the Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor. A CPU manufactured in 10 nm processes, with four cores and eight processing threads, working frequencies that can reach 4.8GHz, 12MB cache, and the premiere of Iris Xe MAX graphics that represent the return of the chip giant to dedicated graphics.
Its installed memory is 32MB LPDDR4 and for storage, it has a 1TB NVMe SSD. It has Bluetooth, a jack for headphones and USB-C ports, although other elements such as Wi-Fi 6, Dolby stereo speakers, TPM firmware and a set of cameras where the quality for videoconferencing and the potential of the IR sensor for authentication with Windows Hello will not be missing.
It is certain that it will have peripherals like the Surface Pen and the removable keyboard as accessories that contribute to the user experience a lot. The battery will also be reinforced with a capacity of 50,030 mAh, 10% more than the one installed in the Surface Pro 7.
When will Microsoft Surface Pro 8 be available? The first laptops with the eleventh generation Intel processors will arrive on the market this month. Microsoft should soon be announcing its new 2-in-1 and the CES event in January would be an ideal time.
