This has been discovered from the codes of one of the latest available versions of the app, where it has been discovered indications that suggest the imminent arrival of exclusive features for Google One subscribers. Some Photo features will require a Google One subscription.
There were signs that pointed to the arrival of paid features in Google Photos already. But it was not clear until now. Google is indeed planning to introduce new functions only available to those with an active subscription to the Google cloud.
These functions will be related to the image editing tools integrated into Google Photos, although it has not yet been possible to discover which functions they refer to. However, new lines of text have appeared in the application code indicating the inclusion of new photo-editing options.
Among them is a tool for editing the image sky through filters, while the other refers to image “pre-processing” functions.
None of the functions discovered in the code for Google Photo version 5.18 that is currently available to users, and it is not known whether these functions will be blocked or not for users who do not have a subscription to Google One.
Google Photos is preparing to include paid features. What seems clear today is that each of the three new functions is closer than ever.
