Windows 10 is removing Adobe Flash forever with its latest update. Adobe already warned us, at the end of the year Flash Player will disappear forever. A few months after that farewell, Windows 10 has eliminated Flash from its last update. Windows 10 will no longer support Flash. In the last update (KB4577586) Microsoft has eliminated Adobe Flash and prevented it from being installed. This measure is a part of the announced death of this technology.

  • What’s new in the Windows 10 (20H2) October 2020 Update?
  • Windows 10 clipboard update will be released soon
  • Microsoft will release a screen recording app for Windows 10

In the middle of the year, Adobe advised users to uninstall Adobe Flash Player. This end responds to security issues. For many years now, cyber-attackers have been exploiting all the vulnerabilities of this technology to put millions of computers around the world at risk.

Most browsers no longer use it, but there are still some traces. Windows 10 is removing Adobe Flash with this update and there will be no more updates for Internet Explorer 11 and the legacy (non-Chromium) version of Edge in December. The latest version of Edge, which uses Google’s Chrome engine, will no longer support Flash in January 2021.

The technology giant explained it this way “We are releasing this removal update in advance of end of support to help customers test and validate their environments for any impact that might occur by the removal of Adobe Flash Player.”.

However, some people claim that this month’s Windows 10 update only removes the version of Flash included in Windows 10, but not the one that has been independently installed by the device’s owner. All brands are publishing their timelines to prepare for the definitive disappearance of Flash and block the vulnerabilities and gaps that cyber-attackers could freely use to harm devices.

Windows 10 is removing Adobe Flash forever with its latest update. Microsoft will start recommending the removal of Flash with the Windows update and later, by the summer of 2021, this will become effective by deleting its presence from all programs. Also, Google will do the same with its Chrome browser.
