AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT leaked and it outperforms RTX 3080. We are less than a week away from the official announcement of the AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series and, as usual, leaks are coming up. Today we have many more details about this monster, with benchmarks and we even have a recently published photo.
This XT model will have 72 CU (4608 Stream Processors), which will be accompanied by 16GB GDDR6 memory. The card will have a 256-bit memory bus and a frequency higher than 2.0GHz; as the AMD reference numbers indicate 2015MHz and a boost to 2250MHz.
- GeForce RTX 3080 20GB and RTX 3070 16GB are expected in December
- RTX A6000 & RTX A40 are NVIDIA’s new professional graphic cards
- Intel sells its SSD and NAND memory business to SK Hynix for $9B
3DMark Benchmark
Igor’s Lab shared data from two different sources, making a comparison of score and percentage. It also states that the data was generated from benchmarks executed by the manufacturers of custom models themselves.
If we compare the percentage differences, we see that in the Firestrike Extreme benchmark, the RX 6800 XT is more than 18% ahead, while in TimeSpy Extreme the figure is just 3%. If we go to Port Royal, the GeForce RTX 3080 FE is 22% ahead of the new Radeon.
On the other hand, the results received by WCCFTECH are very similar to those of Igor, showing results divided into two groups: percentage and score. At least for now, these data make it clear that the RX 6800 XT is better than the RTX 3080 in Firestrike Extreme but worse in Ray Tracing.
Could this be the Radeon RX 6800 XT PCB?
Could this be the Radeon RX 6800 XT PCB? It’s very likely since it shows a design that we haven’t seen for a custom board yet. The PCB is clearly a prototype with missing memory modules. In addition, the VRMs are also covered with a large heat sink, probably because the board is currently under evaluation.
We believe that this is a Radeon RX 6800 XT (Navi 21 XT) or an RX 6000 (Navi 21 XL) custom because it is rumored that the RX 6900XT will be exclusive to AMD, while the card in the photo is clearly a custom model.
Unfortunately, the GPU is covered and we can not see the processor itself. The card is powered by two 8-pin power connectors, similar to the reference design, something AMD officially presented more than a month ago.
AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT leaked and it outperforms RTX 3080 according to those leaks. AMD has everything ready to present its series in less than a week.
