Chromecast with Google TV specs
With this new version, Chromecast becomes a completely independent device. In other words, it ceases to be a screen duplicator device to become an Android TV. This way Google will be able to compete with Amazon Fire Stick and Apple TV.
The key point of the new Chromecast with Google TV is remote control. It will have two buttons for direct access to streaming platforms, one to Google TV obviously and another to Netflix. It is not known if these buttons will be configurable but, in any case, their names will continue to be displayed on the remote control.
Like the other Android TVs, it will be possible to access the Google store in order to download and install apps, games, and other stuff. In this regard, it will be interesting to see if users can install third-party apps and apk files.
In terms of image quality, the new Chromecast will be able to stream content up to 4K resolution and it will be compatible with HDR. With this feature, Google will be able to compete with other devices.
