A catalog of exclusives to compete against Game Pass
PlayStation 5 will hit the market accompanied by great franchises, such as ‘Spider-Man Miles Morales’, ‘Gran Turismo 7’, ‘Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’, ‘Horizon: Forbidden West’, ‘Godfall’ and ‘Residen Evil VIII: Village’, among others. The vast majority of them are well-known franchises that have been very popular on PlayStation 4 and Sony doesn’t want to miss the opportunity to take advantage of these games to boost its new console.
In terms of technical specifications, the PlayStation 5 promises to achieve a resolution up to 8K thanks to a 10.28 teraflops GPU with a custom AMD RDNA 2 architecture and 16GB GDDR6. However, its main attraction is the 825GB SSD hard drive, with 5.5 GBps (raw data) and between 8 and 9 GBps (compressed data) transfer rates. With that SSD, the company claims to be able to load 2GB in 0.27 seconds, the aim is to spend minimum time at loading screens.
The company has not forgotten about ray tracing and sound quality. They use Tempest 3D Audiotech technology, which aims to create surround sound for elements such as rain, gunshots or the voices of characters. You will have to wait to see how ray tracing impacts performance and how this audio technology translates into the gaming experience.
