LG launches an electronic mask against COVID-19. Masks and concerns about the current pandemic have reached the IFA 2020 technology fair in Berlin. LG has presented its electronic mask.

While other years IFA was a meeting place to show new products and technologies, related to household appliances, mobile, computer services. This year a new and imperatively topical element is added: masks against the coronavirus.

LG will bring its electronic design to the fair. They describe it as a portable air purifier. An electronic mask with hours of autonomy made with 100% recyclable materials to be able to walk without risk of contagion.

  • Bill Gates believes that COVID-19 will end by the end of 2022
  • Cross immunity may be a new answer to COVID-19

The company proposes this model, the  PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier, as an alternative to homemade or fabric masks, whose effectiveness is not known with certainty and after several washes must be discarded, as well as against the more polluting single-use masks. In this LG  electronic mask only the filters are replaceable, and even they are also recyclable.

The LG electronic mask is composed of two H13 HEPA filters, the mobile from the LG application designed for this device will notify us  when it is necessary to replace the filters. These ensure that the air remains clean, both the air that enters and the one that leaves.

In addition to the filters, LG has included two fans with a respiratory sensor that detects the cycle and volume of the user’s breath to adjust the work of the fans. In this way they automatically accelerate to help the air intake and slow down to reduce the resistance when exhaling so that breathing is easier.

The battery of these devices is 820 mAh, which means about 8 hours of autonomy for low intensity use, two if the selected mode is high, which depends on the atmospheric conditions, according to LG. To recharge it, you can use the case that is equipped with UV-LED lights that eliminate harmful germs.

For now, the LG electronic mask will be available at LG exhibitions at IFA 2020. Visitors will be able to learn about the different products that the brand announces at this fair through virtual reality demonstrations, such as the 2-in-1 washing machine and dryer in the form of a tower.
