Apple releases Beta 4 for iOS 14 and iPadOS 14
As of now, developers registered with Apple have the opportunity to download the iOS 14 Beta 4 and iPadOS 14 Beta 4. Apple had given a first look at the upcoming updates as part of the WWDC keynote and published a first beta. Before the final version is released, iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 run through various beta versions. Now we have arrived at Beta 4.
Among other things, iOS 14 offers a revised home screen with redesigned widgets, app library, app clips, powerful updates for messages, improvements for Safari and Maps, a new translate app, Siri optimizations, CarKey and much more
iPadOS 14 introduces a completely new, compact design for incoming FaceTime and phone calls, Siri interactions and searches so that users can concentrate on the task at hand. Apps have new side panels and toolbars that combine the controls in one place, making them leaner and more powerful than ever.
New Apple Pencil features, including Scribble for iPad, enable a whole new way of working with handwritten notes, and ARKit 4 offers a completely new depth API that enables developers to create even more powerful functions in their apps.
With the Beta 1 and Beta 2, Apple had laid the first cornerstone. Now the jumps are getting smaller. With the Beta 3 there were various adjustments and with the Beta 4 Apple is still fine-tuning the system. We expect the final version of iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 at the end of September.
Now watchOS 7 and tvOS 14 beta 4 is also available for developers to download.
