Microsoft’s new Chromium-based Edge browser has gotten off to a good start in the past few weeks. In addition to the auto update for existing Windows systems, it is clear that it will also become an integral part of Windows 10 from autumn. For a long time, “Microsoft Edge” was not a competitive browser. But that has changed completely since the beginning of 2020, because the new Microsoft Edge looks really stylish and, thanks to the modern Chromium base, also delivers a smooth surfing experience. In addition, Microsoft adds useful features that Google Chrome lacks, making Firefox particularly competitive. Best example: like Firefox, Edge also comes with a built-in and activated tracking blocker.
In the new Microsoft Edge 85 version, which is currently in beta, Microsoft is trying out a lot of innovations. However, a large part of this is aimed at use in the company: bookmarks and browser settings can be synchronized directly between Active Directory profiles. The Internet Explorer mode, which is still important in the company, will also get an update. Microsoft also serves 13 new administrative templates, so Edge 85 makes itself fit for companies.
