Sony will present its next-generation PlayStation 5 game console in just two weeks, ITHome reports citing 4chan, whose previous leaks turned out to be correct. In addition, Sony itself indirectly confirmed the announcement of the PS5 by lowering the price of the PlayStation 4.
Sony will introduce the PlayStation 5 at the PlayStation Meeting in New York on February 5, 2020. The company already mentions PS5 in its official Twitter accounts, and the official accounts changed their info to “It’s time to play.”
This is expected to be the slogan of the PlayStation 5. Note that the proximity of the announcement of the new Sony console was recently confirmed by David Jaffe, a game designer who worked on exclusives for the PlayStation.
According to the previous leaks, the new Sony console will receive a powerful CPU and GPU, as well as a high-speed solid state drive. It will have real-time ray tracing support, and will also support games from previous PlayStations. The cost of the new console presumably will not exceed $499.
As for the PlayStation 4 with a 1 TB hard drive, the price is down to $299.99. Three games are also included in this price: God of War, The Last of Us Remastered, and Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition.
