The security company McAfee announced that the board of managers appointed Peter Leav as their new CEO. Leav will start working at February 3rd as CEO and he will also be in the board of managers.
The current CEO of McAfee is Chris Young, who decided to step down and will remain in an advisory position to assist Leav with the transition. He will also become a senior advisor at TPG Capital.
Leav was recently working at BMC Software as the President, CEO and board member. Previously he was appointed as CEO at Polycom Inc, executive vice president and president, Industry and Field Operations at NCR Corp, corporate vice president and general manager at Motorola Inc.
The new CEO also worked at executive sales leader at Symbol Technologies Inc and Cisco Systems Inc.
He is still on the boards of companies such as Box and Proofpoint.

Four years ago, McAfee was seperated from Intel as a standalone cybersecurity company, under Chris Young’s leadership.
