The release date of Cyberpunk 2077 is postponed. The carnage continues for the release dates of the most anticipated video games of 2020. After Final Fantasy VII Remake and Marvel’s Avengers, now it is the turn for Cyberpunk 2077 to fall far behind its original schedule.
Just a few more months for the Night City
At the E3 2019, CD Projekt RED proudly announced that Keanu Reeves would appear in Cyberpunk 2077. That evening, the Polish studio also announced the release date was set for April 16th, 2020. Unfortunately, this promise won’t be kept since we have just learned that the action RPG needs a few more months.

The developers explained the reasons behind this postponement via a tweet from the official account of the studio: “We are currently at a stage where the game is complete and playable, but there is still work to be done. Night City is massive – full of stories, content and places to visit, but due to the sheer scale and complexity of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing and polishing. We want Cyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postpoing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game perfect.”
OK… Cyberpuk 2077 is postponed, but what is the new release date?
With the postponement, Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on at 17th of September for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. If a few months will bring perfection to the game, so be it.
