Noah Hawley, who was recently appointed as the director of the new Star Trek movie, in a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, said that the cast could indeed change.
Star Trek might not just have a new cast, but also a new story
According to Hawley, the appearance of the new characters usually entails a new cast. However, for the time being he cannot say for sure whether any of the actors who starred in the trilogy will return, since the production of the picture is at an early stage.
Prior to this, Variety reported that Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg and Karl Urban will still return to their roles. The movie is expected to continue the story of Captain James Kirk. But after Noah Hawley’s comment, it is possible that we watch a completely different story.
At the moment, release date for the new Star Trek movie is not certain.
