MSI is launching the GS66 Stealth, a gaming laptop with a 300 Hz panel at CES. High frame rates and large batteries are a focus for many manufacturers at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, so MSI followed the trend.
The laptop uses a 99.9 watt-hour battery. This means that the device can just be taken into the passenger cabin of the aircraft. The GS66 Stealth is superior to its predecessor GS65 Stealth which had a 240 Hz panel and used a 82Wh battery.
MSI GS66 Stealth has a 15.6-inch panel with Full HD resolution and is therefore not quite as compact. It supports a maximum of 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB of SSD storag. In addition, 10th-gen Intel Core i9 CPUs – probably 45W chips – and Geforce RTX graphics card. MSI did not provide other details about the model. But looking at the specs alltogether, a GPU like Geforce RTX 2060, RTX 2070 or RTX 2080 Max-Q can be expected.
The manufacturer’s product images show three USB-A, two USB-C ports and a RJ45 connection and HDMI.
So far, MSI has not commented on the price or availability. The predecessor GS65 Stealth currently costs $1,589. With a 300 Hz panel and a larger battery, prices above $2,000 are not improbable.
