At the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show, Samsung will demonstrate a premium frameless TV according to gizmochina.
It will be a first in TV industry, and it is noted the executives of the company approved this project, and mass production of the TV will begin in February 2020. Samsung is expected to make this a base feature for its TVs with a screen size of 65 inches or more.
The equipment used in this TV was made by Shinsegye Engineering and with it, it was possible to realize a fully bezelless TV design, mostly because tight soldering of the television panel and the case. Samsung also partnered with local component supplier Taehwa Precision.
One of the developers who worked on the upcoming product, said that this device is different from other modern frameless TVs. While other solutions still have a bezel, Samsung offers almost “zero bezel”. According to the developer, Samsung is the only company that is ready for mass production of such an “extreme design”.
However, it is reported that the display division has expressed concern about the structural integrity of the new TV. Concerns are raised about whether the television panel may become detached from the main body of the TV.
In October, LetsGoDigital reported that Samsung had trademarked ‘Dual LED’, ‘Zero Bezel’ and ‘Infinity Screen’. So the new product might be named Zero Bezel or Infinity Screen.
