NEC Lavie Mini is a project born from the collaboration between NEC and Lenovo. It is not on sale yet and its price is not going to be economic, but if you like interesting devices here is one.

NEC Lavie Mini has a Nintendo Switch-like controller
It is a small size convertible (8-inches) that can be used for productive tasks or for games thanks to its detachable Nintendo Switch-like controller. Its screen is an 8-inch multi-touch screen with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, 16:10 aspect ratio, and 400 nits brightness.
NEC Lavie Mini may be small, but it offers a high level of hardware with an 11th generation Intel Core i7-1180G7 processor and Intel Iris Xe graphics, accompanied by 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD drive. It supports and has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, 1.5W stereo speakers, a combined headphone/microphone connector, USB 3.1 Type-C ports and a webcam with IR support for security tasks.
There is no room for a full keyboard, but it offers the usual keys with circular style buttons. An optical trackpad replaces the traditional touchpad. In addition to using it as a small laptop or tablet, optional drivers make it a portable console. It features analog and digital controllers, triggers, and vibration. They say it will support third-party game controllers.

Finally, Lenovo and NEC will offer a base that easily connects the laptop to a TV or monitor. It has an HDMI output that allows video output with resolutions up to 4K 60 fps and it has two USB Type-C ports and two Type-A ports.
No details have been given about NEC Lavie Mini’s price and release date. It offers good performance and it is extremely portable and versatile for various modes of use including mobile gaming.
