ASUS ROG Phone 5 is on the way and we put everything we know about the gaming beast together. After the presentation of the ASUS ROG Phone 3 last summer, many doubted that the Taiwanese firm would continue launching beastly smartphones designed for gaming, given the testimonial sales globally despite the good reviews of its ROG Phone devices.
In any case, the latest news around ASUS did point to a new top-of-the-line smartphone, and now it has been the Asian manufacturer itself that has been responsible for confirming it, publishing the first teaser image of the ASUS ROG Phone of 2021, which will apparently skip a generation to adopt the “5”.
Taiwanese manufacturer ASUS is already anticipating the ROG Phone 5 with the classic teaser image. But there is more to it. So we’re going to compile everything we know about the new ASUS ROG Phone 5 in this article.
The ASUS ROG Phone 5 will be eye-catching, but gaming phones are starting to get a little stylish
We can say by looking at the first images and videos of the prototypes, that the ROG Phone 5 will be stylized a little more, just as flashy as any gaming product, but also more in tune with any other high-performance mobile.
In fact, it seems that the device’s bezels have been significantly reduced in search of symmetries, as there are practically no edges on the sides, but on the top and bottom, we will find black bezels to house components such as the front camera, which are much smaller than before.
The back shows a familiar design, similar to the current model, with details of the industrial look and geometric patterns, but built-in glass and with prominence for a rear photographic module that grows in size.
There is, however, an engraving with the digits “05” that could suggest this generational leap, skipping the ROG Phone 4, which will never see the light of day. As always, these lights will be present in another gamer device, which would apparently illuminate the central line thanks to a configurable RGB LED.
You can also see a red button on the lower right frame, which presumably could be used to activate the gaming mode as it happens in other similar devices.
Obviously, these are prototypes for now and the design is likely to change in the end, so we will have to take it with caution and value it for what it is, an early response to feeding the hype now that Black Shark also paves the way for a new Black Shark 4 that also takes its first steps.
