Instagram is introducing a paid subscription option that will allow users to experience the platform ad-free. The ad-free subscription aims to address user complaints about the increasing number of ads on the platform, which boasts over 2 billion monthly active users and more than 500 million daily active users.

The subscription will cost €7.99 per month and will remove all ads, as well as halt ad-related data processing. Users will have the choice between the ad-free subscription and continuing to use the free version, which includes personalized ads.
