In the event that Siri continues to ignore you, Unless you go into Settings > Accessibility > Siri and turn on Always Listen for “Hey Siri,” Siri won’t respond to your commands when your device is covered or in a face-down position by default.
Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad. This will allow you to retrain Siri. Siri and Search can be accessed by scrolling down and selecting it. Find the toggle switch that says “Hey Siri,” and make sure it’s not turned on. You need to turn it on once more.
If Siri is not functioning properly, make sure that it is turned on by going to Settings -> Siri & Search and checking out the three toggle switches that are located at the very top of the menu. If you want Siri to work, you need to make sure the switches that are located next to Listen For “Hey Siri,” Press Home for Siri, and Allow Siri When Locked are all green and positioned to the right.
Tap Settings when you’re on the Home screen. Choose Siri and Search from the menu. Then you should make sure that you are listening for the phrase “Hey Siri,” The options to Press Home for Siri and Press Side Button for Siri (on iPhone XS and later) have been activated or made available for use. If they are not already enabled, you can enable them by toggling the appropriate switches or pressing the appropriate buttons.
When the iPhone is set to Silent mode, Siri is configured to automatically mute itself. This behavior is the default setting. Check to see if the volume on your iPhone is turned down if the device does not read out the responses. A helpful hint is that you can program Siri to always speak out, even when the switch for Silent mode is turned on. You can accomplish this by navigating to Settings > Siri & Search > Siri Responses on your device.
Perform a Factory Reset on Your iPhone’s Settings. Open Settings and tap General. Tap Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings. After the factory settings have been restored, navigate to Settings > Siri & Search and check that the option to Listen for “Hey Siri” is activated. After this, you should be able to use Siri without having to use your hands again so you can make calls.
Navigate to the Microphone setting under Settings > Privacy. Check to see if the app is working properly. You should get in touch with the app developer if the app has permission to access your microphone or if the permission isn’t listed.
