Valheim: weapons and armor made of bronze, improve the forge – beginner’s guide (solution)
In the indie survival game Valheim by Iron Gate Studio, it is quite possible to walk around with equipment and weapons made from simple materials for a very long time. Even in the woods, an improved club can still scare an opponent, but from one point, at the latest when you want to leave the woods behind you, you can no longer avoid metalworking.
The opponents are simply too resilient for that, trees are too hard for your simple tools and the leather clothing cannot withstand the blow of a troll anyway, let alone that of a draugr. So it is time to make all preparations for forging weapons, tools and armor out of bronze. We’ll tell you what you have to do in this short guide for beginners.
Valheim: Forging Bronze – Beginners Guide (Solution)
Anyone who wants to forge equipment, weapons and tools out of bronze inevitably needs a forge, because without it it is not possible. In order to be able to set up this special kind of workbench, you first need two other pieces of equipment, namely the smelting furnace and the coal pile. For both you need 20x stone and 5x surtling cores each. Fire the coal pile with wood to get coal and throw it into the furnace along with copper.
The process can now take a short moment, but after a few minutes you will receive your first copper bar and with it a few new recipes, for example that for a forge. The functionality of this forge is similar to that of the good old workbench and it also takes up roughly the same space. Of course, you can place them wherever you want, but remember that the forge must also be covered so that you can use it.
There must also be a workbench nearby. If both criteria are met, you can go into Valheim With the help of a smelting furnace and coal pile, I now diligently create more metals and use them to produce a variety of weapons, armor and tools. You can find an overview of all the options below:
Bronze breastplate (5x bronze, 2x deer skin) Bronze leg protection (5x bronze, 2x deer skin) Bronze shield (4x wood, 10x bronze) Bronze helmet (5x bronze, 2x deer skin)
Bronze spear (5x wood, 6x bronze, 2x deer skin) bronze sword (2x wood, 8x bronze, 2x leather scraps) bronze arrow (8x wood, 1x bronze, 2x feathers) bronze atgeir (10x wood, 8x bronze, 2x leather scraps) bronze ax (4x wood , 8x bronze, 2x leather scraps) bronze mace (4x wood, 8x bronze, 3x leather scraps) copper knife (2x wood, 8x copper)
Bronze ingot (2x copper, 1x tin) bronze nails 20x (1x bronze) bronze pickaxe (3x heartwood, 10x bronze) plow (5x heartwood, 5x bronze)
Fermenter (30x precious wood, 5x bronze, 10x resin) Cart (20x wood, 10x bronze nails) Karve (30x precious wood, 10x deer skin, 20x resin, 80x bronze nails) Object stand horizontal & vertical (4x precious wood, 1x bronze nails) Sconce (2x wood, 2x Copper, 2x resin)
Valheim: Upgrade the Forge – Beginner’s Guide (Solution)
To upgrade the forge you have to proceed in the same way as for the workbench. That is to say, you have to create certain objects in the construction menu and place them near the forge so that it can achieve a higher value and create new items and upgrade already known objects. You can find these objects in the construction menu under “Production”, they are all marked with a small asterisk.
At this early stage there are only two improvements available to you, the anvil (5x wood, 2x bronze) and the forge cooling device (25x precious wood, 10x copper). Later on there will be further improvements, and in the later course of “Valheim” you can also use iron and then even silver, but at the beginning you are more than adequately equipped with items made of bronze.
