After the recent incidents fans strated asking how is Offset related to Takeoff. Quavo, a rapper of the Migos, is Takeoff’s uncle and a bandmate.
The Associated Press received confirmation from a Migos spokesman on Tuesday that Takeoff, actual name Kirshnik Khari Ball, was shot and killed at the age of 28 in Houston, Texas.
According to the Houston Police Department, at around 2:30 a.m., officers had responded to allegations of a shooting at 810 Billiards & Bowling’s address, 1200 Polk. Quavo, actual name Quavious Marshall, was a guest at the private party where the incident occurred, according to the police department.
Insider has requested an official response from the Takeoff and Migos. Along with his cousin Offset, actual name Kiari Cephus, and nephew Takeoff, Quavo founded the rap trio Migos in 2008. Their original name was Polo Club, but they later changed it to Migos, which they claimed in 2013 was a reference to the “center of narcotics” in the Georgia region where they were raised.
After the success of their second album, Quavo appeared solo on a number of tracks, including “Strip That Down” by Liam Payne and DJ Khaled’s “I’m the One.” Migos released their first mixtape “Juug Season” in 2011 but did not achieve success until 2013 with their single “Versace.”
As a solo artist, the 31-year-old rapper released two albums in 2018: “Quavo Huncho” and “Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho,” both of which featured Travis Scott.
Although Offset has grown more estranged from the other two members of the trio recently, Migos have not formally disbanded. When Migos cancelled their appearance at the 2022 Governors Ball in June, fans started to suspect that there might be trouble.
Since then, Quavo and Takeoff have been putting out songs as a pair. Last month, they released their most recent album, “Only Built for Infinity Links.” Offset, meanwhile, has declared that his own solo album would be out in November. But really, how is Offset related to Takeoff?
How is Offset related to Takeoff?
Born Kirsnick Khari Ball, Takeoff grew up in suburban Atlanta with the other two members of the group. Gwinnett County was unflatteringly mentioned in a few of the group’s songs. The trio was largely raised by Takeoff’s mother and included Quavo, who was his uncle, and Offset, who was his cousin.
Takeoff, the youngest of the three, was thought to be the group’s most relaxed member. He wasn’t in demand as a featured performer on top 10 tunes like Quavo, who has appeared on hits with Post Malone, DJ Khaled, and Drake, nor did he make headlines at the same pace as Offset, who is married to Cardi B.
In contrast to Takeoff, Quavo and Offset have both released solo albums. He was more reticent, yet he still communicated a lot through rhyme. By collaborating with Quavo on the album “Only Built for Infinity Links,” which was only released last month, he had hoped to increase recognition for his lyrical skills.
On Revolt’s “Big Fact” podcast in October, Quavo and Takeoff discussed the change from a trio to a duo.
“We want to see our career as a duo. This ain’t got nothing to do with no label, no paperwork, no QC, nothing. This got something to do with the three brothers. And shit, it is what it is. Right now, we gon’ be the duo ’til time tell.”
