Capcom and PlayStation announced Resident Evil 4 Remake release date during today’s State of Play broadcast. The game will be ready on March 24, 2023, and it will be available on PlayStation 5.

In the trailer; when the world starts to crumble, Leon Kennedy is sent to rural Europe searching for the United States president’s daughter. Of course, Ada Wong is there since it would be difficult to conceive of a Resident Evil game without its resident femme fatale.

As with previous upgrades to Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, the Resident Evil 4 remake is about updating one of the greatest games of all time with modernized visuals and gameplay. We learned about this project’s development via the far-reaching ransomware assault that swept Capcom in 2020, but the Japanese firm has stated its existence for the first time.

Resident Evil 4 for the GameCube launched in January 2005 before being ported to almost every platform in the world in the last 17 years. It was a major shift in the series’ control scheme, moving it from forced perspectives to a more stressful, over-the-shoulder third-person camera that was unusual for its time.

Unlike Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 4 prioritized survival horror over action horror. As a result, it didn’t sell as well as the previous games. Resident Evil 4 is the pinnacle of the Resident Evil franchise, according to many fans. It’s also one of gaming’s most memorable and frightening experiences for various reasons. It’s often called one of the greatest horror games ever made, but it’s also referred to as one of the greatest games ever created in any genre.

The official game synopsis reads: “In Resident Evil 4, special agent Leon S. Kennedy is sent on a mission to rescue the U.S. President’s daughter who has been kidnapped. Finding his way to a rural village in Europe, he faces new threats that depart from the traditional lumbering zombie enemies of the earlier installments in the series. Leon battles horrific new creatures infested by a new threat called Las Plagas. He faces off against an aggressive group of enemies, including mind-controlled villagers tied to Los Illuminados, the mysterious cult behind the abduction.”

In 2017, Capcom revolutionized the wheel once more with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, which switched to first-person and was a welcome point-of-view shift that carried over into last year’s Resident Evil Village.

Resident Evil 4 Remake release date

Resident Evil 4 Remake is in the works for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC and the game will be available on March 23, 2023.
