Huawei has just announced the new Huawei Watch Fit, a smartwatch with an interesting desing. Almost all smartwatches are square or round, Huawei has opted for a longer format, something that has allowed it to increase the diagonal of the screen to 1.64 inches.

The device has been launched in Arabia (in fact, it has been Huawei Arabia that has published the announcement on its Twitter account) and at the moment nothing is known about its launch in other markets. The price of the watch is 399 dirham, which is about $110. In the absence of knowing more information about its availability, we will get to know a lot more soon.

Designed for sports

We begin by reviewing the aesthetic section, which is perhaps the most striking. The Huawei Watch Fit is much longer than it is wide, unlike its brothers, such as the Watch GT 2, which is round. Its design is quite minimalist, finding a single side button in the right area that will allow us to interact with the clock and its respective menus. It is water resistant to 50 meters and, as a whole, weighs 21 grams.

On the front we find a 1.64-inch screen with a resolution of 280 x 456 pixels, which translates to 326 pixels per inch. It is a slightly curved glass, which is known as 2.5D glass, and according to Huawei it occupies 70% of the front. Needless to say, the screen is tactile, as in the rest of the company’s watches.

Inside we find a battery of undetermined capacity, but with which Huawei claims to be able to offer up to 10 days of use. It also has fast charging and, again, according to the firm, with just five minutes of charging you can get a day of autonomy. We also have an integrated GPS sensor, a heart rate sensor and the option to measure the oxygen level in the blood.

That leads us to talk about sports, and here is some interesting news. On the one hand, the device has 98 sports modes, but on the other it has 12 animated exercise routines. With them, we can start a Full-Body routine and see how the exercises should be done in an animation directly from the clock screen. In total, the smartwatch has 44 modes.

Finally, it should be mentioned that the Huawei Watch Fit has a period control system, sleep analysis function and a stress manager. If the watch detects that we are more tense than necessary, it will suggest breathing exercises to relax us. Of course, as a smart watch, it is capable of showing us notifications on the wrist, controlling music playback and showing us information such as the weather.
