In this article, we are going to be covering what is new in Fortnite 21.30 update, so you know what will be added to the popular battle royale game.

Every year, Epic Games releases a massive update to their battle royale title Fortnite in order to keep players interested during the summer vacation, when there is typically a month without a real mid-season update. This year’s update is v21.30, which is expected to shake up Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 with a summer event, new challenges, and a new wave of skins. The patch notes for 21.30 may be found below.

In this article, we are going to be covering what is new in Fortnite 21.30 update, so you know what will be added to the popular battle royale game.

Fortnite 21.30 update patch notes

Epic Games revealed all there is to know about this update in a blog post, stating:

“The Fortnite Battle Royale v21.30 update is here, which means this year’s summer celebration is almost here! Stay tuned for info in the coming days — but while you’re getting ready for that, be ready NOW with the new Prime Shotgun:”

Prime shotgun is added to the loot pool

The inclusion of the Prime Shotgun (not to be confused with the Primal Shotgun), which does additional damage when completely reloaded, is one of the most significant improvements of the v21.30 release. Here are the Prime Shotgun stats for each Fortnite rarity:

The Prime Shotgun is part of the usual Fortnite loot pool, which means you may discover it in Chests, Supply Drops, Loot Sharks, and even as floor loot if you’re lucky. As with any weapon, focusing on chests and supply drops rather than floor loot will increase your chances of obtaining a rarer (and more powerful) form of the Prime Shotgun.

Fortnite summer event begins

Following the 21.30 update, this year’s great summer event is finally set to arrive, offering gamers a few weeks of fun in the sun. We’re not sure what the summer event will entail, but you can presumably expect new challenges, free cosmetic prizes, and summer-themed map updates. Over the next several weeks, there will be a slew of themed skins, cosmetics, and bundles available in the Item Shop to coincide with the start of the 2022 summer event.

Voting starts for Tilted Tower buildings

Following the semi-destruction of the beloved locale Tilted Towers in the previous season, Epic Games did let players rebuild Tilted Towers with their own designs. Gamers will soon be able to vote on the structures they wish to rebuild the city. There’s no news on how this will happen yet but you can see more construction ideas below.

What is new in Fortnite 21.30 update?

With Epic Games on vacation for the summer, there won’t be another mid-season update for a time, but that doesn’t mean the material will stop. Over the following several weeks, there will most certainly be a regular stream of updates released via hotfixes. These are generally minor things like a weapon unvault or a skin release, but they count.
