Dota 2 Patch 7.31 is just hours away from making massive changes. Every year after The International, Dota 2 releases a big patch that changes the meta completely. This time, DOTA 2 7.31 will bring new mechanics, a Techies rework and a brand new hero.

Until yesterday nobody knew what to expect from the new patch, but players were surprised with an easter egg. Last night, in some matches, all 10 players were stunned globally for a second and a ROAR sound is heard just before the horn. Join us as we countdown to the new patch and discuss the implications of the new Primal Beast Easter Egg, as well as all of the latest news surrounding the update.

Dota 2 7.31 release time

I’m beginning to think that the patch has been delayed, and with no word from Valve on when it will be released, we may only conclude that it will be presented soon.

Dota 2 Patch 7.31 Primal Beast: Is it a new hero or objective?

The Primal Beast is the final boss of Aghanim’s Labyrinth’s seasonal event, The Primal Hunt. This final boss resembles a Stegosaurus and a Dragon. The monster is known for generating quakes, stunning opponents, and roaring while attacking.

Primal Beast Easter Egg

As we have said earlier, last night, in some Dota 2 games all 10 players were stunned globally for a second and a ROAR sound was heard just before the horn. Players familiar to the game thought that Primal Beast was coming as a new objective on the map similar to Roshan or as a brand new hero.

Will Primal Beast be the new Dota 2 hero?

The answer is yes. Unlike the thought’s of some people from the community Primal Beast is not a new objective on the map, but it is a new hero.

These are Primal Beast’s abilities, according to the official Dota 2 website:

  • Onslaught: Primal Beast will charge up and dash forward, becoming an unstoppable juggernaut. Anybody caught in its path will be damaged and stunned on impact. The catch is, this move can also affect allies.
  • Trample: Primal Beast grows more powerful as it goes, so this ability’s damage will increase for every 140 units traveled. The catch here is that Primal Beast will be in a mindless rage, so it will be disarmed throughout this ability’s duration.
  • Uproar: Primal Beast grows more powerful as it takes damage, so this ability’s damage output will increase every time it takes 35 or more damage from enemies. Upon use, Primal Beast will deliver a powerful roar that increases its armor and damage based on Uproar’s multiplier.
  • Pulverize: Remember that scene from The Avengers where Hulk slams Loki over and over again? Primal Beast does that with any hapless enemy, damaging them and mini-stunning any surrounding enemies caught in range.
  • Rock Throw: “Hit him with a rock!” Primal Beast chucks a giant rock that stuns and damages any enemies caught in its range. This attack only works from a set distance.
