The most popular subreddit of 2021: r/wallstreetbets

It’s no surprise that the most popular post in 2021 was from the famous r/wallstreetbets, a subreddit. This subreddit has been the source of some of the biggest and most dramatic stock market moves of the past few years. Redditors outperformed massive hedge funds that were betting against GameStop, AMC, and others. This move made Dogecoin (started as a joke) skyrocket.

The most popular AMA of 2021: lobster diver

Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions are a huge part of Reddit. These are sessions where users of the platform can ask anything they want to a person. The most popular AMAs in 2021 were:

  • I’m a lobster diver who recently survived being inside of a whale. AMA!
  • I’m Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and author of “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster.” Ask Me Anything
  • Hi, I’m Todd Howard, Game Director and Executive Producer at Bethesda Game Studios. Ask Me Anything. Thanks!

Reddit’s top five most viewed topics of the year are cryptocurrency, gaming, sports, weddings and health and fitness.
