Hacking Nintendo Switch is more difficult now

A few days ago we told you more details about Nintendo sent complaints to resellers who marketed products for hacking the Switch and Switch Lite consoles such as SX Core and SX Lite.

Almost all of the stores included in the complaints sold Team-Xecuter products, the main objective of the Japanese manufacturer of consoles at the moment. From what appears after visits to some of these stores, the complaints are having quite an effect, which complicates this possibility for users.

Nintendo filed complaints against various stores and resellers. The first of the lawsuits was against Tom Dilts Jr., person allegedly responsible for the UberChips website. This store was quick to react, posting a notice that all SX Core and SX Lite bookings would be canceled and refunded.

In addition, we had a second lawsuit that did not exactly detail the stores or websites, but we did know that they all had in common the marketing of Team Xecuter related products. In the lawsuit we could read that the activity was to facilitate the “use of an unauthorized operating system and the pirated tools to install it”.

The complaints seems to be effective to stop the resellers

Team Xecuter managed to bypass console protections in 2018 to launch tools that allowed it to be hacked. Now, they are going to launch a new modchip for the new versions of the Nintendo Switch, in addition to the Lite version. Nintendo wants to stop this group, something that for the moment has not been achieved and that seems far from doing. Therefore, its activity is focused on stores and resellers.

Nintendo’s strategy seems to be working and websites like Uberchips.com, Mod3dscards.com, NX-card.com, Flashcarda.com, USAchipss.com and Anxchip.com show different types of errors that imply that they have been closed.

A list of resellers is provided on the Team Xecuter website, among those recommended for Europe, modchip83.com no longer has products, stargate3ds.com.es does not work and www.xecuter-sx.com displays the following message:

“We regret to inform that this page will be closed permanently.

The pre-sales purchases made on this website will be returned in the order that they were received.

Returns will begin on Thursday, May 28, 2020.

We regret the inconvenience this could cause, our intention was never to cause harm to our customers.”

Is hacking Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite still possible?

The rest of the resellers do seem to work normally, but some of them have closed their doors. Of course, it is still possible to buy it on many other websites, even on larger purchasing platforms such as AliExpress.

In spite of everything, this closure in the chain of stores and resellers represents a victory for Nintendo that will continue to push to end the Team-Xecuter. To do this, it will use any approach that allows it to succeed.
